Fleetwood High School

Headteacher's Welcome

As a Headteacher and a parent myself I know that choosing a secondary school for your child is an important, and often difficult, decision.

The aim of this Prospectus is to provide you with as much information as possible about our school.  Fleetwood High School has been on an exciting journey in in recent years and I am exceptionally proud of our achievements since I took up post in 2012.
“Leaders and governors are passionate about Fleetwood High School”
Ofsted

Fleetwood High School is a fully comprehensive school for 11 to 16 year olds which serves the Fylde Coast, predominantly Fleetwood, Thornton and Cleveleys; although we do have students who travel to us from as far as Blackpool. The main aim of our school is to provide the highest quality education possible for all our students, and to enable them to acquire first-rate nationally recognised academic qualifications, as well as the personal skills to become happy and fully functional individuals ready to tackle the ever increasing demands of the modern world.  In order to do this we offer a bespoke education for each individual child who follow their own academic pathway designed to help them achieve their personal best.  Our team of talented, experienced and dedicated teaching staff ensure all students achieve as high as they possibly can.

“Pupils are engaged in their learning because of very strong relationships between teachers and pupils”
Ofsted

Our examination results have risen over the last few years, and we are proud of the progress our students make over the 5 years that they are with us.  A very high proportion of our students move on to further education and apprenticeships, and indeed many progress beyond this and in to higher education.  Parents receive regular updates on their child’s progress, both at Parents’ Evenings, Review Days and through termly monitoring reports, in order to ensure that students are encouraged at all times to achieve their full potential.  Parents also have password protected access to their child’s live school records which includes attendance, punctuality and academic progress.  Our students will tell you that we provide a happy and safe environment through our pastoral system.  They have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities outside lesson time, from trampolining to our debating society.

“Pupils say they feel safe at school”
Ofsted

We believe in hard work in a happy and secure environment, where all students are able to achieve their personal best and make academic progress through an enjoyable and engaging school experience.  We aim to equip our students with the highest level of academic qualification and help them to become fully rounded citizens during their time here.

I look forward to meeting you in the future, and working in partnership to provide a positive and inspiring school experience for your child.
