Extra-Curricular Opportunities

There are a varied range of additional activities that students can get involved with beyond their lessons. Information on clubs and extra-curricular activities will be published on Class Charts in term time.

An opportunity to represent Fleetwood High School in any activity or event is something to be extremely proud of. Team success is built upon commitment. If your child is selected and agrees to participate in any team/s bands, or any other commitment-based activity, we expect that they will attend all additional training/practice sessions, rehearsals and performances.

Daily Electives
Launching September 2025 | Daily from 13:30–13:55

We are thrilled to introduce our brand-new Electives Programme, starting in September 2025 for all students in Years 7 to 10! These exciting, 25-minute daily sessions are designed to spark creativity, grow passions, and connect students with one another through shared interests — all during the school day!Whether your child is an aspiring artist, a budding coder, a young eco-warrior, or simply curious about the world, there’s something for everyone.

What Are Electives?
Electives are fun, engaging clubs and activities that students will choose based on what excites them most. They will take place every day after lunch from 13:30–13:55 and run for half a term at a time, meaning there’s always something fresh and new to explore. At the end of each half term, students can pick a new elective or (if space allows) continue with their favourite one.

Why Electives Matter
These sessions aren’t just about fun — although there’s plenty of that!
Electives:
• Boost confidence and creativity
• Help students build friendships across year groups
• Develop life skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership
• Support wellbeing through physical activity, mindfulness, and self-expression
Daily Electives

A Taste of What’s On Offer
Here are just a few of the exciting electives your child might choose from:
• Veterinary Club – Learn how to care for creatures big and small!
• Block Bots – Code and build your own robot creations.
• 3D Drawing – Make your art leap off the page!
• Harry Potter Club – Spells, games, and Hogwart’s magic.
• Greenhouse & Gardening Club – Grow plants and protect the planet.
• Musical Theatre – Lights, camera, action!
• Conspiracy Theories Club – Dive into mysteries and explore the unknown.
• Fitness, Quick Cricket, Netball & Benchball – For students who love to move.
• Pulse School Newspaper – Become a journalist and publish your stories!
• Pride Club, Crafting for Community, and more!
And that’s just the beginning!

How Students Choose
Your child will get to choose their first elective on Transition Day, so we can plan an exciting mix ready for September! For those not attending transition day, we will catch up with you during Summer School. If that’s not possible, email the year team with your child’s name and the 4 choices they would like in order of preference, and we’ll make things ready for them in September.

And That’s Not All!
We’re delighted to share that all Year 7–9 students will have access to a free breakfast from 08:00 each day AND receive free toast at break time! Because a well-fed student is ready to learn, explore, and thrive.
Electives are about more than just enrichment — they’re about belonging, joy, and opportunity. We can’t wait to see what your child will discover.Let the adventure begin!
